Job Description

The ideal candidate will successfully partner with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, and Human Resources as well as other functions within the commercial organization, to assess, design, and deliver the Commercial training and development plan. Assuring the short and long-term learning strategy, tactical plan, and resource model to effectively support the onboarding, knowledge/ skill development, deployment, and ongoing training of all the field force teams. The Associate Director, Commercial Learning & Development role is responsible for new hire training, ongoing training (i.e., sales meetings, NSMs, etc.), and advanced training. The Associate Director will design, develop, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and content. The Associate Director will establish training delivery methods/tools, and work with Sobi Global for delivery via the US Learning Management System (LMS) requirements (SobiCareer).

Essential Responsibilities/Scope Of The Job

Including, but not limited to the following

  • Support Commercial Learning and Development training needs across the full US product portfolio
    • Experience in Immunology and Rheumatology a plus including experience with Buy & Bill, and Infused Products
  • Experience in developing and delivering content for the New Hire Field Sales team and supporting ongoing training needs
  • Experience developing a training plan, developing, and delivering content for a new product launch
  • Develops strategic partnerships with key stakeholders (Leadership, SalesForce, Marketing, Compliance, PSMR) and serves as the primary point of contact for the specified sales force training needs
  • Design, develop, and implement cohesive, scalable, and sustained learning programs which increase the skills, knowledge and performance of field commercial teams. This includes all new hire training, ongoing and advanced training, product launches, national/regional meetings, distance learning programs, instructor-led programs, and other identified training opportunities and methodologies (i.e. micro-learnings)
  • Assess selling skills, clinical, business acumen, and competency knowledge and then adapt current programs to fill gaps.
  • Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices, and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered.
  • Conduct new hire training – facilitating and leading classroom training, web conferences, and in-field training/workshops Identify, design, and create effective training content (materials, agendas, etc.) to improve the desired competency level of field teams
  • Own PSMR (medical, legal, and, regulatory) requirements for all training materials
  • Become a product expert on assigned promoted products (SME)
    • Immunology and Rheumatology
  • Maintain and track LMS-related commercial training courses
  • Provide administrative oversight, logistic support, project management, vendor/ budget ownership, and adherence to all relevant policies and SOPs
  • Conduct new hire training – facilitating and leading classroom training, web conferences, and in-field training/workshops Identify, design, and create effective training content (materials, agendas, etc.) to improve the desired competency level of field teams
  • Own PSMR (medical, legal, and, regulatory) requirements for all training materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 8-10 years of experience in the Pharma, Device, or Biotech industry required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of field-based sales
  • Minimum of 2+ years of management experience and/ or 2+ years of sales training experience.
  • New Product Launch experience a plus
  • Ability to think strategically and build short and long-term learning strategies that align with business imperatives
  • Experience with instructional design, adult learning principles, and facilitating training workshops for small and large groups
  • Demonstrated success working independently and handling multiple projects that require teamwork across functional areas
  • Strong coaching skills and willingness to provide and receive feedback
  • Experience with and ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and associated tools such as Articulate
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written and presentation)
  • Ability to effectively present to all levels within the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to embrace change and multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% Preferred

The base salary pay range for this role is $150,000-$190,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
