Morgan Stanley Investment Mgmt., Inc. seeks a Vice President, Acquisition in New York, New York
Support the Firm in several areas of infrastructure private equity investing. Analyze new investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector, including transportation infrastructure and energy transition infrastructure ranging from power generation to power and gas distribution. Manage currently owned portfolio companies operationally and financially. Assess viability and attractiveness of sale, divestiture, and refinancing opportunities of owned assets. Produce investment memorandum on acquisition opportunities. Perform financial modeling and valuation on companies and assets. Coordinate with advisors and consultants on due diligence items. Perform background analyses for investment theses. Monitor the performance of portfolio companies. Manage and actively participate in the execution of corporate finance transactions. Perform financial analysis, strategic business analysis, and detailed industry research. Contribute to team discussions and client meetings. Develop and deliver client presentations.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $250,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements
Requires a Master's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the position offered or four (4) years as an Associate, Analyst, Consultant, or a closely related occupation. Requires four (4) years of experience with: producing financial models and valuation on companies and assets; analyzing a business from an investor’s perspective; assessing investment highlights, key risks and mitigants, business models, and growth drivers; produce investment memorandum on acquisition opportunities; leading a team through M&A and financing processes, pushing internal and external parties towards transaction milestones while meeting tight timelines; working directly with company C-suite level managers and management team members in driving forward business plan and maintaining reporting standards; networking with industry experts and C-suite level managers; various capital structures and products typically employed in the infrastructure space including leverage with bank loans, term loan B, and private credit, and tax credit monetization with tax equity, sale-leaseback, and tax credit transfer; Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word; and excel macro.
