Communications Manager
Overview
To assist in managing communication initiatives including internal communication, marketing collateral and external collaboration with partners, media personnel and more. Duties include writing clear and compelling copy across various mediums including press releases, newsletters, ads and sales pitches.
Our ideal candidate is a team-spirited and skilled writer with an eye for detail that is experienced in project management, communications strategy and can offer valuable and timely insight.
Specific Duties: (Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following)
Communications & Media
- Develop marketing communications plans including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
- Coordinate all public relations activities
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Collaborate on strategic media pitches to maintain media engagement for the United Center and The 1901 Project
- Create content for press releases, marketing material and keynote presentations
- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
- Collaborate internally with various departments and organizations to develop deliverables and meet all required bid specifications and/or partner pitch materials
- Curate client-facing copy and material to pitch potential events and partnerships
- Align with Partnerships team to fulfill all contractual requirements including partnership announcements, collaboration and integration
- Provide media escorts for photographers at concerts/family shows at select events
- Develop media plans to support the promotion of select events
- 4+ years of proven working experience in public relations, copywriter or related role
- Agency experience preferred
- Proven track record designing and executing successful communications campaigns
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Collaborative spirit
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Event planning experience
- BA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline
