Responsibilities:
TxDOT’s Transportation, Planning, and Programming Division is seeking two senior business and data analysts to support statewide planning and programming projects and initiatives. TPP supports statewide planning and programming for a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of projects as well as many divisions and districts across the state with data access, information, and resources to support planning efforts.
This position will serve TPP as a geospatial data analyst supporting various projects and high-priority initiatives that require quality geospatial information, data analysis, and business analytics. Position will assist with business analysis including requirements capture, prioritization of data structure/content and process improvements. Staff will lead data development efforts for TPP planning tools including data collection, analysis, visualization, and manipulation/ETL. Familiarity with foundational database concepts required including SQL, custom queries, table views, and geodatabase management required.
Position will work with Safe Software’s Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), Python/ArcPy and Esri’s Online Suite of Web Products and Tableau to create and manage feature services, data exports, dashboards, and other visual content. Position may develop presentations for user needs, support applications rollout and testing, and documentation.
Candidates should be familiar with geography/GIS concepts and have a strong database/computer systems background. Experience in transportation a major plus. Candidates must have strong speaking and communications skills and be open to working in a highly collaborative and engaging environment.
