As a Consulting Manager at McMann & Ransford, you will work in a challenging and rewarding leadership role to drive client transformations across a variety of different industries, including Healthcare, Technology, and Complex Services. You will act as a project owner – Responsible for the day-to-day management of client engagements, as well as building client relationship and identifying growth opportunities.


Responsibilities:


Client Work:

  • Leads project with limited guidance from Partners.
  • Acts externally as expert project manager, i.e. possesses expert project planning & management skills.
  • Manages the project team, which may include internal and external resources.
  • Design complete projects given general objectives. 
  • Accurately estimates work effort for most tasks. 
  • Develops robust project work plans and uses them to allocate work, track progress, and identify potential issues.
  • Independently prepares for and leads client project meetings and status reviews with project team. Significantly supports preparation for steering committee meetings with executive stakeholders.
  • Allocates personal work effort appropriately between working team, client stakeholders, and Managing Director.
  • Identifies potential account issues in a timely manner. Shows good judgment in informing and involving Partners.
  • Provide key input to overcoming the business model challenges, and the client journey.
  • Recommends changes to objectives, work approach, and resource allocation as needed to meet project objectives.


Client Development & Management:

  • Owns the relationships with the Working Team.
  • Able to persuade the Working Team and mid-level client managers to M&R’s point of view.
  • Contributes substantially to the development of Account Plans.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities and requirements to extend client lifecycle. Removes problems or obstacles in current project work that would inhibit upselling.
  • Scopes typical projects with little guidance; can develop project cost and risk assessments with some guidance.
  • Able to convey M&R’s philosophy on some topics and create sufficient interest to create prospecting opportunities.
  • Begins to network with a broader set of individuals at the client with an eye to expanding the relationship.


Firm & Team

  • Accurately identifies and diagnoses development needs of team.
  • Able to coach and mentor consultants and client working-team members as needed to complete high-caliber project outputs.
  •  Creates efficient working practices on the team; minimizes any unnecessary rework, analyses, and iterations.


Qualifications:


  • Ability to travel as needed
  • 3-5 years of experience in a consulting.
  • 1-2 years working with client executives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field. An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience from top-tier consulting firm is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred)

  • Experienced strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive results.
  • Broad business experience developing creative solutions and driving execution and adoption of key strategic programs across large teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and executive presence, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in data analysis, using metrics and KPIs to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Project management expertise, with a track record of successfully leading and executing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on executive leadership/sponsor communication.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, handling multiple priorities with efficiency and adaptability.
