- Transactional Support: Provide end-to-end legal support for franchise-to-franchise transactions and franchise business ownership changes, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and minimizing risk.
- Risk Manager: Analyze transactions, identify and resolve legal risks, escalating complex issues to the Director of Legal as necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business leads in finance, operations, and development to ensure timely and effective decision-making for proposed transactions.
- Team Leader: Manage a paralegal focused on franchise matters, guiding them through complex issues and elevating concerns to senior legal leadership as needed.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline and enhance franchise transfer processes.
- Franchise Disclosure Expertise: Prepare and update KFC’s annual Franchise Disclosure Documents, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- M&A Legal Support: Provide comprehensive legal support for corporate M&A processes, from drafting and negotiating legal documentation to advising on the legal implications of business objectives.
- Real Estate Legal Support: Manage legal aspects of real estate matters, including drafting, negotiating, and analyzing ground leases, real estate purchase contracts, and related agreements.
- Contracting Process Management: Oversee the legal contracting process for construction contracts and letters of intent, providing legal support to business partners during negotiations.
- Franchise Process Execution: Ensure proper execution of legal franchise processes related to corporate development where applicable.
- Legal Documentation: Draft, negotiate, and analyze bid materials, purchase and sale agreements, leases, financing documents, and other transactional documents related to restaurant assets.
- Strategic Advisor: Provide practical, strategic legal advice to business partners in finance, operations, and development to mitigate legal risks while driving business success.
- External Counsel Coordination: Manage and coordinate work assigned to outside counsel.
- Legal Expertise: Use your knowledge and experience to provide sound legal guidance that aligns with KFC’s business goals.
- Collaborative Spirit: Work closely with various teams across the organization to ensure legal processes are seamlessly integrated into business operations.

- Educational Background: Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited law school; licensed to practice law in any U.S. state.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced law firm or corporate environment, with a solid background in commercial contracting and corporate transactional work.
- Client-Facing Skills: Strong background in client counseling or other client-facing engagements, with the ability to build relationships and influence others.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to provide practical, strategic legal advice that aligns with business objectives.
- Self-Starter: Capable of working efficiently and independently, while also collaborating effectively with colleagues across the organization.
- Detail and Results-Oriented: Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills with a focus on delivering results.
