The Director of Quality will oversee the Quality Management System for FDH Electronics, ensuring compliance with industry standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves supervising the quality team, maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers, and acting as the Management Representative to ensure the health and effectiveness of the QMS. The ideal candidate will bring positive energy, meticulous attention to detail, and extensive knowledge of aerospace quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance and Certification: Maintain compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards, ensuring that all products and processes meet the required industry standards
  • Quality Leadership: Champion the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of quality projects across the company. Provide strong leadership to the Quality Assurance department, guiding the team toward achieving company goals and objectives
  • Management Representative: Act as the Management Representative responsible for overseeing the health of the QMS. Ensure that the system is robust, well-documented, and effectively implemented
  • Audit Oversight: Oversee internal and external audits, leading root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions based on AS standards
  • Process Improvement: Design, implement, and document procedures for process control, process improvement, and inspection, ensuring that all quality processes are optimized and effective
  • Training Program Management: Oversee the company’s IPC-620 and IPC-J-STD-001 training programs, ensuring that staff are well-trained and compliant with industry standards
  • Customer and Supplier Communication: Maintain strong relationships with customer and supplier quality representatives, addressing and resolving any quality issues that arise
  • Metrics and Performance Monitoring: Establish and implement metrics to monitor system effectiveness and quality performance, including leading and lagging indicators
  • Surveillance and Inspections: Perform surveillance activities, support source inspections, oversee first article inspections, and monitor inspection system performance throughout the organization
  • Supplier Quality Management: Maintain supplier development efforts, establishing and managing a robust supplier quality program to ensure high-quality standards across the supply chain
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the company’s quality objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance leadership, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 360 Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • In-depth understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to create and lead high-performance teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Familiarity with IPC-620 (Wire Harness Manufacturing) requirements
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
