THE ROLE  

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the Total Rewards Director will be a key contributor to designing, implementing, and executing Venterra’s total rewards programs and policies, including benefits, salary structures, incentive plans, and other compensation programs. The seasoned professional will hold a passion for building better processes and solutions to navigate the complexities of US & Canadian healthcare. Based out of one of our major markets the Total Rewards Director will travel as necessary to our Houston & Canada Corporate offices and on-site communities to collaborate with key stakeholders, including HR and senior leaders, to develop, administer, and enhance employee satisfaction and retention through effective compensation and benefits strategies.

THE DETAILS  

  • Leverage best practices and innovative thinking to develop, administer, & maintain a compensation & benefits portfolio that supports the organization’s Total Rewards strategy for innovative health, financial well-being, leave management, and succession plans
  • Ensure current compensation models are internally equitable & externally competitive with Venterra’s compensation philosophy and aligned with annual business goals
  • Conduct market research and surveys to benchmark positions and make merit & incentive compensation budgets & total compensation recommendations based on the strategy outlined
  • Stays up-to-date on compensation labor market trends and conducts analysis of market competitive data
  • Train, advise, and support leaders of interpretation around compensation plans, market strategies, and compensation philosophy
  • Expert & comprehensive knowledge of total rewards concepts, principles, and related laws & regulations
  • Analyze job descriptions, classifications, and organizational structures to maintain internal equity
  • Provide oversight and tactical direction to the organization’s leaders in the annual compensation review process for both Corporate and on-site teams to include compensation audits, analytics, report generation, payroll coordination, and training as needed
  • Design and model variable compensation plans
  • Working experience in navigating through cloud compensation software in reporting, surveys, and wages
  • Oversee the proper administration and implementation of the company’s health and retirement benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD, LTD, 401K, etc) in according with the policies and procedures while ensuring legal compliance with government regulation
  • Collaborate with benefits vendors to rectify employee benefits issues

The Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field preferred or 7 to 10 years of progressive HR experience including, but not limited to compensation & incentive analysis and total rewards programs administration with a minimum of 5 years in a Compensation and/or Benefits, and at least 3-5 years of people leadership experience
  • Certified Compensation Professional and Certified Benefits Professional preferred
  • Experience in PayFactors (preferred) or any other cloud compensation analysis software platform
  • Full knowledge of compensation laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the regulations that impact US and Canada benefits & compensation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel & PowerBI
