The VP of Investment and Asset Management will be an integral part of our team, focusing on the analysis, coordination, and management of new and existing multi-family real estate investment projects, with a significant emphasis on acquisitions. Your analytical acumen and financial expertise will drive the success of our projects from the ground up, ensuring thorough market research, accurate financial modeling, and effective asset management. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance and a passion for real estate development, particularly in identifying and securing new investment opportunities. This position will focus on the west coast market.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

New Projects:

- Identify and analyze new ground-up multi-family real estate projects, with a strong emphasis on acquisitions.

- Conduct comprehensive market research focusing on major employers, transit access, and supply dynamics.

- Develop, maintain, and update Excel financial proformas for value-add investments and development projects.

- Coordinate with team members to establish and verify financial input assumptions.

- Prepare detailed internal documentation and reports to facilitate investment decision-making, particularly for potential acquisitions.

- Liaise with third-party providers for essential data and reports.

- Consistently update internal project pipeline files with key performance indicators.

 

Existing Projects:

- Proactively monitor construction progress and generate monthly progress reports.

- Manage and update project timelines, including key phases such as construction, lease-up, and disposal.

- Collaborate with the Asset Management Team to re-forecast investment returns and analyze actual financial performance.

- Review contractual documents including leases and loan agreements to model their financial implications.

- Organize and process change orders and management consent actions.

- Participate in meetings with stakeholders and contribute to periodic management reports.

- Assess the performance of third-party developers and contractors, ensuring the integrity of their reports.

- Create and manage dashboards that track key metrics for each asset and report on the portfolio's performance.

- Support the disposition process, from broker selection to facilitating buyer engagements.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education and Experience:

- 3 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate, investment banking, corporate finance, or a similar field, with a focus on acquisitions.

- Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, investment analysis, and financial analysis.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving business landscape.
