Job Description

The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the After-Hours Call Team. This team is responsible for providing virtual, after-hours call coverage for over 1,000 senior living facilities on nights and weekends. The DCO is expected to foster positive working relationships with Curana providers, regional leadership, local facility operators, and ancillary departments for the purpose of achieving the company’s vision, mission and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), ensuring their adherence to clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Develop and optimize schedules for clinical staff, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient workflow while leveraging existing telecom platform.
  • Engage and communicate with a team of providers who work a variety of shifts, covering patient care 24/7/365 and across different states and time zones.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, mentor, and evaluate new staff positions to meet Curana business and patient needs.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics around people, process and technology.
  • Participate in the implementation of company-wide initiatives including value-based care models aimed at improving quality.
  • Actively participate in company committees or task forces related to clinical operations, quality improvement, and patient safety, providing expertise and guidance.
  • Foster a culture of patient-centered care, promoting a positive and compassionate environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and patient safety guidelines.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments and trends in primary care, geriatric medicine, and senior living, incorporating evidence-based practices into clinical operations.
  • May cover after-hours call duties for a particular region to support training or to fill a vacancy on an interim basis
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience

  • 2+ years demonstrated experience leading healthcare teams and medical providers.
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant providing primary care, geriatric, or senior living services

Education

  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant (PA)


Travel Requirements

  • Remote role
  • Up to 10% travel required for leadership development, team buildings and to attend strategy meetings.
