The Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic business partner to the leadership team, responsible for aligning HR initiatives with organizational goals to maximize employee engagement and support JHS’s mission. This role manages HR functions, ensures compliance, and leads workforce planning, retention strategies, and employee relations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Partnership: Collaborate with business leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring effective workforce planning, staffing, and retention.
  • HR Program Management: Design, develop, and implement HR projects and initiatives, leveraging data analysis and best practices to meet business needs.
  • Onboarding & Retention: Improve 90-day retention rates in key positions by enhancing the onboarding process in collaboration with managers.
  • Talent Pipeline Management: Partner with hiring managers to optimize applicant management through Taleo, ensuring a robust candidate pipeline.
  • Employee Relations: Act as the primary HR contact for the business unit, addressing employee relations issues and providing consultation on organizational matters.
  • Labor Relations: Work with managers and labor relations specialists to resolve union-related issues and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Learning & Development: Collaborate with L&D teams to coach managers on leadership, team dynamics, communication, and performance management.
  • Compliance & Performance Improvement: Ensure HR activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations; participate in performance improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 7-10 years of HR experience with management experience required.

  • Project Management: Strong ability to prioritize and manage HR projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Change Management: Proven ability to lead and support change initiatives that drive business improvement.
