Technical Program Manager / Technical Lead Systems Test Engineer - (Full Benefits Package)

Akkodis is seeking several Technical Program Managers / Lead Engineers for full-time roles on our dedicated teams in the Detroit Metropolitan area for the next several years. Qualified candidates will possess professional experience as a proven hands-on technical leader of staff in a HIL test bench environment to include EOL, diagnostics, dSPACE Scalexio, ECUs, and Python/CAPL scripting for automation tasks. Prior exposure to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and/or powertrain features along with model-based development utilizing MATLAB/Simulink is helpful. Leadership experience is preferential for some available roles.


Salary is commensurate based on experience level.

Technical Program Manager / Lead Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • The TPM oversees technical delivery of end to end Software feature validation using agile processes, tools and methods. Develops expertise in software test design and has advanced knowledge in vehicle functional partitioning, electrical and communication architectures, embedded software processes and OEM Global Product Development System.
  • The Hardware in the Loop TPM supports the product development and system / software integration processes by defining HiL testing scope, resource management, organizing and leading status updates, developing test procedures for automated execution, implementing tests using Hardware in the Loop equipment, documenting and reviewing execution reports, reporting incidents, and tracking software updates to fix issues. Using Agile methodologies.
  • Single point of contact for the test organization and the feature owner, engineering team, and supplier
  • Manage the test project for the assigned features including integration/definition, scope/coverage, time, communications, and risk
  • Develop and negotiate the testing scope and statement of work
  • Support the tradeoff analysis of test requirements vs test environment capabilities to define test scope and instrumentation strategies
  • Analyze requirements, vehicle components electrical schematics, functional specifications, and FMEA documentation
  • Design, maintain and execute test procedures in alignment with test design guidelines and strategy
  • Document test environment, automation, and vehicle variant management requirements
  • Implement and validate test environment, automation, and vehicle variant management solutions
  • Develop test procedures to validate the test environment (intake tests)
  • Analyze test execution results to generate reports, document incidents, and drive them to resolution
  • Troubleshoot vehicle systems and test environment functionality to minimize false positive incident reports
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies for test design, management, and execution processes


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. Masters degree and PMP certification are preferential.
  • Greater than five years professional experience managing projects, ideally for systems test engineering groups within the automotive industry.
  • 5+ Years of experience in automotive software development or validations.
  • 5+ Years of experience in software development life cycle - CMMI and agile process experience.
  • 5+ Years of experience utilizing software testing or quality assurance methodologies.
  • 5+ Years of experience in validation support of dSPACE or NI HIL simulators
  • 5+ Years of experience in dSPACE control and automation desk software.
  • 3+ Years of experience in ADAS/DAT feature testing support
  • 3+ Years of experience in distributed feature testing experience
  • 2+ Years of experience using Scaled Agile Framework SAFE implementing agile practices and setting up SW development workflows at an enterprise scale.
  • Functional understanding of ASPICE SW development process and ISO26262 functional safety standard.
  • Stellar interpersonal skills.
