Overview

The Head of Client Portfolio Management “Head CPM” will be tasked with growing and maintaining our US Real Estate book of business with a US client base (including corporate pension funds, state and government sponsored investment funds, insurance companies,

endowments and foundations). They will create, maintain and grow revenues from clients by understanding their investment needs to influence real estate product development strategy. They will partner with our portfolio managers and act as the link between the investment teams, our clients and distribution. The Head of Client Portfolio Management will grow and manage a CPM team as necessary.

Responsibilities

The role must support the execution of client strategies for existing and new Real Estate Equity investors and to identify new investment opportunities to meet client needs while working collaboratively with Product and other stakeholders.

  • Managing and delivering high quality client relations to prospective and existing clients working in partnership with LGIM America client and distribution teams. Maintain and develop networks internally and with external institutional consultants
  • Initiate relationships with new clients, expand number of mandates with existing clients, identify the investment organizations that may be prospects for our products and establish or maintain relationships with senior investment professionals at these organizations
  • Act as product specialist and Real Estate Equity expert on key funds for client presentations, conferences, pitches and external meetings with or in lieu of Fund Managers
  • Execute distribution strategies for existing and new real estate equity to grow AUM and revenue streams; establish an annual strategic plan, maintaining regular contact with key client representatives including field consultants, delivering clear account reviews and thoughtful interpretations of economic and other related external events
  • Share knowledge of our clients’ current and future investment needs in order to inform new product development initiatives
  • Responsible for client and investor communications on key Real Estate products
  • Work with marketing to produce presentations, market updates, client communication and thought leadership pieces to showcase Real Assets capabilities and respond to clients’ needs
  • Fundraising and marketing execution to partner with various distribution and portfolio management teams; preparation and internal coordination of marketing materials, presentation of the investment opportunity to prospective clients, , lead response to RFP and client due diligence requirements.
  • Investor relationship management to work with our client platform to drive the execution of the investor relationship plan; cover each of our real estate strategies in United States including developing a deep understanding of your clients’ needs and contracted reporting obligations. You will work closely with our product strategy and investment teams to ensure compelling, informative and timely updates are provided to each of our clients. This includes overseeing the implementation of the client reporting calendar for all quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Ongoing client mandate & relationship support to help to solve client investment-related, business and operational issues that arise during the course of the client’s relationship by serving as the liaison between the investment team and all other areas of the firm (compliance, legal, operations, marketing, and sales).
  • As AUM grows, develop and lead a CPM team in the US

Qualifications

The candidate must have a strong work ethic, organizational skills and the ability to manage several assignments at one time while interfacing with various groups within the overall the LGIM America platform. Ideal candidates will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of hands-on practical experience in industry
  • Detailed knowledge of real estate and or infrastructure private equity and commercial lending
  • Energy and drive to convert clients to close
  • Straight forward communication of investment opportunities to clients and feedback from clients to the investment team
  • Investment acumen to actively engage with clients 1:1 and to match the right investment opportunity to the outcome the client is seeking
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex portfolio management concepts effectively
  • Strong knowledge of real estate markets
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Organized and able to prioritize, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time pressure and with accuracy
  • Team player, ability to work independently and proactively to take ownership of tasks, as well as part of a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft office products
  • Strong analytical skills, quantitative abilities and familiarity with programming (e.g. VBA, Python) are a plus
