Business Unit Overview
This position is part of Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services global teams. Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company’s strategic mission and operations. Included in Corporate and Shared Services are the business functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization’s financial success.
Summary
This role is accountable to develop and implement a targeted Leadership Talent agenda and priorities that drive leader, team, and organization effectiveness. The Talent Manager will consistently and objectively assess incumbents and influence Business Leaders and HR partners to ensure Novanta has strong leaders and succession bench for senior level and critical roles across the Enterprise.

The Talent Manager will consistently and objectively assess incumbents and influence Business Leaders and HR partners to ensure Novanta has strong leaders and succession bench for senior level and critical roles across the Enterprise.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serves as the thought leader and subject matter expert for the discipline of Talent Management.
- Drives talent planning process across Novanta: including establishing a talent planning rigor and cadence, facilitating talent planning sessions with business leaders, and tracking talent movement and actions.
- Partners with HR leaders and business leaders to identify and prioritize short and long-term leadership development solutions.
- Collaborates with leaders and HR team to help Novanta achieve Diversity, Equity and Inclusion aspirations.
- 5-7 years of Human Resources leadership experience
- Advanced knowledge of talent and succession planning, organization development and design, and leadership assessment processes
- Intellectual curiosity and passion around talent and leader development
- Proven ability to develop and execute talent strategies and solutions
- Poise, polish, and communication skills commensurate with engaging with senior level business leaders
- Big picture thinker who can also be highly detail oriented; ability to think strategically combined with a hard wiring to execute
- Drive to deliver results, accountability and ownership of work, and operate with a continuous improvement mindset; strong work ethic
- Agile and rigorous problem solver with ability to drive and embrace change
- High energy, self-starter who can work independently and within a team environment
- Up to 10%
- Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials
