FloSports is a world-class sports media company strategically positioned to be the essential destination for passionate sports fans, delighting them with live event coverage, breaking news, highlights, stats, rankings, and player profiles. FloSports is creating the home for sports like track & field, motorsports, grappling, wrestling, cheer, hockey, and more, and we are looking for innovative and passionate people like you to help us!

THE ROLE:

FloSports seeks a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations as we prepare for our next growth stage. This role is crucial in steering our company through a complex and ever-changing technology and media environment, ensuring financial integrity, and maximizing company value.

Flosports’ corporate offices are in downtown Austin, Texas. We require the person in this role to be in the Austin office with the FloSports leadership team. This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

The CFO will oversee a team of highly capable employees across the Accounting, Finance, M&A, and Business Intelligence departments. Below is a summary of the responsibilities expected of this role. This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list but rather a high-level overview.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and implement financial strategies to maximize company value.
  • Develop, implement, and manage an annual and monthly budgeting process.
  • Prepare detailed financial models and forecasts.
  • Work closely with current and future investment partners
  • Ensure all financial records and statements are accurate and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to show the company’s financial health clearly.
  • Provide ongoing business and operational insights to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Communicate financial performance and strategic plans to the Board of Directors, bank partners, and investors.
  • Collaborate with legal, tax, and advisory teams to optimize the deal.
  • Lead all mergers and acquisitions targeting, analysis, due diligence, and negotiations.
  • Lead all equity and debt fundraising activities.
  • Assist the Board of Directors in understanding the financial implications of strategic decisions and proposed transactions.


Banking and Investor Relations:


  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Negotiate and manage banking agreements, lines of credit, and other financial instruments.
  • Communicate effectively with investors, providing regular updates on financial performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage investor relations, ensuring all needs are met.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts to investors and banking partners.
  • Coordinate with investment banks and underwriters in preparation for the potential IPO process.


Collaboration and Internal Stakeholder Management:


  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  • Promote collaboration across departments to achieve financial goals and support organizational objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and guidance to internal teams, enhancing their decision-making processes.
  • Support a culture of transparency and communication within the finance team and across the organization.


Service-Focused Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the finance team delivers exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain efficient financial processes that support the company's commitment to service excellence.
  • Implement financial systems and tools that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in an executive leadership position, managing Finance and Accounting.
  • CPA Certification is preferred, not required.
  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial executive in a high-growth environment.
  • Prior experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and IPO processes is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team of high performers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information.
  • Ability to think strategically and align financial goals with overall business objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Commitment to fostering collaboration and supporting internal stakeholders.
  • Dedication to maintaining a service-focused approach in all financial operations.
  • Previous experience working with a Board of Directors.
