Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition

As VP, Global Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for shaping Assurant's workforce on a global scale. Your strategic vision and deep expertise, deploying people, partners, process, and technology to deliver optimized experiences and outcomes will drive our global talent acquisition strategies, ensuring we attract, evaluate, and hire the talent Assurant needs today and in the future. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in global recruitment, a strong understanding of diverse talent markets, and a track record of building high-performing talent acquisition teams. This role will be based in the United States and operate primarily virtually. This role reports to the SVP, Talent.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate closely with C-suite executives and Executive People Business Partners to align our talent acquisition strategies. Prioritize, develop, and implement innovative recruiting strategies, ensuring consistency across the globe and alignment with our business priorities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a global recruiting team of fifty full-time plus contractors across the US, LatAm, Europe and APAC, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, adoption of best-in-class processes, and value creating stakeholder partnerships. Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability within the recruitment team.
  • Global Talent Acquisition Operations: Oversee and manage recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience while also optimizing time to fill, cost and candidate quality. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and initiatives. Ensure our recruitment practices adhere to legal standards across all locations in which we hire.
  • Strategic Workforce & Talent Planning: Partner with People Business Partners in creating pragmatic workforce plans to inform hiring and staffing decisions. Oversee our annual, enterprise talent review and candidate assessment processes to identify top talent, successors, readiness, and mobility to match talent with business needs and provide thought leadership to co-create Assurant's talent marketplace of the future.
  • Executive-Level Recruitment, Sourcing & Pipelining: Develop and maintain diverse, talent pipelines for critical executive and/or differentiating roles across geographies. Personally engage in executive-level recruitment, including identifying, assessing, and attracting top-tier talent.
  • Tech & Process Optimization: Continually evaluate and optimize our tech stack and processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Evaluate opportunities and actively manage our roadmap. Champion driving exceptional experiences for all key stakeholders.
  • KPIs, Market Trends & Data-Driven Insights: Set stretch KPIs and gather data and insights to inform operational performance, opportunities, and future talent acquisition strategies. Stay informed about external market trends, industry shifts, and emerging talent practices and share potential implications with key stakeholders.
  • Employer Branding: Partner with Marketing to differentiate and enhance our global employer brand through targeted initiatives to attract top candidates; includes employee value proposition, careers website, social strategies, organized events, job descriptions, paid media, partnerships, CRM strategies, etc.


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 12+ years progressive leadership experience in Talent Acquisition to include global team management.
  • A minimum of 8 years of overall management experience.
  • Priori experience with being personally engaged in executive level recruitment.
  • Proficient in staffing tools/systems (i.e., LinkedIn, Beamery, Workday, Paradox, etc.).
  • BA/BS degree.
  • Experience working in a global, dynamic, and publicly traded, global company is preferred.
  • Strategic mindset- Long-term planning/forward thinking, innovative, big picture oriented with an ability to translate it into concrete plans.

  • Results oriented- Enable business outcomes, act with the end in mind.
  • People Leadership - Build and empower diverse, winning teams, leading and building the skills and capabilities of the team to grow and deliver.

  • Influence - Ability to influence diverse stakeholders via effective communication up, down, and across to a variety of constituencies, both verbally and in writing.
  • Business & Financial Acumen - Understands business and financial drivers and how Talent Acquisition supports the business in delivering on its strategic objectives; has experience with annual and long-term budgeting cycles.
  • Data-Driven Execution - Ability to analyze data and perform root cause analysis, determining insights which lead to enabling targeted actions being executed to enhance performance and/or experience.
  • Change leadership - Ability to lead through strategic change and challenges.
  • Broad HR Knowledge/Experience - Knowledge and experience in workforce planning, organization design and structures, change management, talent assessment, project management, problem solving, coaching, employee engagement, diversity, and compensation.
  • Roadmap Planning & Execution - Adept at defining a strategic tech and process roadmap that integrates with other People Org tech roadmaps, allocating resources, building shared goals and expectations with key partners, anticipating potential obstacles, setting realistic timelines, managing risks, and keeping stakeholders informed of plans and progress.


What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Exposure to and/or prior experience with talent marketplaces preferred.
  • Broader HR experience, such as having held a business partner role.
  • GPHR or SPHR preferred.


How much should I expect to travel?

  • 10%

Pay Range:

$163,100.00 - $272,300.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
