Job Description

The College of Education and Human Development is seeking an individual for the position of Senior Academic Advisor who has excellent interpersonal skills and is detailed-oriented to provide advising support to current, new, and prospective undergraduate students. The Senior Academic Advisor will work with students by applying case management strategies to encourage satisfactory academic performance and engagement in the college community. This position requires the ability to conduct research, identify and organize data, and make data driven judgments in regards to retention . Requires the ability to guide students in developing and accomplishing educational plans. Advises students about scholastic programs and academic progress. Provides information to students regarding university resources to enhance academic success and problem-solving. This position is a full-time, 12-month professional position within the Office of Academic Advising.

This position will not only advise students, but work on projects such as graduation checks, content GPA checks, minor approvals, summer and winter welcome planning. Responsible for MU Connect and student outreach and First Generation student outreach.

Shift

Monday - Friday

8:00am - 5:00pm

Some evenings and weekends

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Must have at least one year of advising experience

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $45,000 - $63,000 annually

Grade: GGS-009
