Buyer III (Remote)

Temp until December 2024

Compensation: $30 to $37 per hour DOE


Position Summary: As a Buyer III, your primary responsibility is to ensure that funds are allocated responsibly and in the best interest of the company. This role involves engaging with business partners to identify critical business requirements, leading sourcing negotiations, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing the bidding process. You will play a crucial role in vendor risk assessments and ensure compliance with procurement policies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in vendor risk management systems, Oracle Financial, and a background in the healthcare industry is a plus.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with business units to understand their purchasing needs and guide them through risk assessments.
  • Conduct and manage the RFP process, including sourcing, bidding, and vendor management.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Manage significant purchases, including IT hardware/software, services, consulting, and promotional items.
  • Independently source and qualify alternative vendors, monitor vendor quality, and negotiate pricing.
  • Track vendor trends, market fluctuations, and supplier performance to ensure industry-standard pricing.
  • Create and maintain process documentation for sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Provide training on procurement processes, policies, and standards.
  • Deliver consistent reporting metrics and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental goals.


Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with Unity or similar vendor risk management systems.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Financial is required.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and procurement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills.
  • Possible travel required.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, Outlook, and Oracle E-Business Suite.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of related experience.
