The National Accounts Director, Institutional Health Systems will play a pivotal role in managing and expanding relationships with key hospital systems and integrated delivery networks (IDNs) across the nation. This role is crucial in developing and executing strategies to optimize our partnerships with large, complex hospital systems and drive business growth through these critical accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Account Development: Develop and execute strategic plans to manage and grow relationships with institutional hospital systems, including large IDNs and regional hospital networks.
  • Revenue Enhancement: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within hospital systems, negotiate contracts, and drive revenue growth through effective account management and sales strategies.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within hospital systems, including pharmacy directors, purchasing managers, and medical directors.
  • Market Insights: Analyze market trends, hospital system needs, and competitive positioning to tailor strategies and solutions that meet the specific requirements of institutional accounts.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment and support in executing account strategies.
  • Customer Focus: Address account issues proactively, manage customer expectations, and deliver exceptional service to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on account performance metrics, including sales data, contract compliance, and customer satisfaction. Develop action plans to address any areas needing improvement.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for contracts and agreements with hospital systems, focusing on pricing, terms, and service levels that benefit both parties.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage account budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to meet financial targets and optimize profitability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all account activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements, especially in a highly regulated environment like healthcare.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Healthcare Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience in account management or business development within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on hospital systems and institutional accounts.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts, manage large accounts, and drive business growth. Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers within hospital systems.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with data analysis tools.
