Remote Contract positon through 6/27/2025

Potential to extend up to 18 months

Rate: $50-$55/hr

Typical Day in the Role

  • Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is focused meeting is working on Windows design, focusing on privacy for AI and other aspects related to Windows.
  • Key projects:
  • Key projects and initiatives include creating assets for marketing collaboration, motion and visual design assets, illustration, UX design
  • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of responsibilities outlined in the JD.

Candidate Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: 10 overall years of experience in the field.
  • Degrees or certifications required: Associates degree in design and/or certificate in graphic design required. Bachelors degree in design or related field preferred
  • Disqualifiers: Portfolio is not included in submission.
  • Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain:
  • Excellent portfolio with strong visual design examples
  • Ability to communicate well with the team and is a team player
  • Previously worked at Microsoft on the Windows team.
  • Candidate is local to Redmond, WA is a huge plus.
  • Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, quality of work, and great collaborator.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

  • Minimum 10 years with Expert level visual design experience - using Figma to build motions video assets, edit videos. work with graphics and design static images
  • Minimum 10 years experience with 3D skillset
  • Minimum 10 years experience with UX design

Hard Skills Assessments

  • Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: As soon as possible
  • Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include 2 round panel style
  • Required Candidate Preparation: Candidates should have examples from portfolio prepared to speak about prior to the assessment.

Summary:

The main function of a Graphic Designer is to create designs, concepts and sample layouts based on design principles and concepts. A typical graphic designer needs to have a high level of creativity and able to communicate their ideas to both internal and external clients. The ability to be flexible to client demands, work well under pressure and multi-task are required skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, analyze and create visual solutions to communication problems
  • Develop overall layout and production design of publications or web interfaces as they relate to graphic design
  • Prepare sketches or layouts to present to client
  • Create charts and graphs from data given

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in design and/or certificate in graphic design required. Bachelors degree in design or related field preferred
  • 10+ years experience required
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills and problem solving ability
  • Basic ability to utilize various forms of media, including print, electronic and film
  • Basic ability to visualize in 2D and 3D and understand aesthetic aspects of design
  • Previous experience using the computer to create layouts and generate new images
  • Experience with Adobe publishing and graphics software

(w/UX, Illustration/creation of digital branding assets/3D art skill set)

Design + Production background

Able to work from Figmas to build motions video assets

Able to edit video

Able to work with graphics

Able to design static images
