The Software Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications and tools. This person will be required to work with cross-functional leaders to gather requirements and provide updates on the project's progress. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills and be capable of quickly identifying and resolving technical issues within software applications and systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Collaborate with senior developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into software solutions.
  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of software applications tailored to the needs of our manufacturing environment.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing software applications, providing timely resolutions and updates.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within manufacturing workflows.
  • Develop and deploy automation scripts and tools to streamline repetitive tasks and increase operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement software solutions that address specific manufacturing challenges and requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including manufacturing engineers, operators, and IT professionals, to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and one-on-ones to exchange ideas and insights with colleagues.
  • Document software selection, software designs, and implementation details to facilitate knowledge transfer and future maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of software development fundamentals and principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in software development with a strong understanding of the .NET environment.
  • Familiarity with databases and SQL for data management and manipulation.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development tools (e.g., IDEs, issue tracking systems).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn about manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Prior internship or project experience in software development, manufacturing, or related fields is a plus.


Physical Demands

  • Majority of work will be done while seated at a desk
  • Must be able to stand or bend at a filing cabinet
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to use a computer and phone to conduct business.
  • Local travel to various worksites is required.
