Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., located in Irvine, CA, is seeking a skilled attorney with experience in providing legal guidance on a variety of corporate matters. This attorney will manage and/or assist with a range of transactional and in-house corporate legal work, including contract drafting and negotiation. They will also provide employment, litigation and IP related support and will collaborate with other members of the legal team on various strategic initiatives. This role will report directly to the Assistant General Counsel. What You Will Do
Manage and administer a wide range of commercial agreements in support of various company departments.
Lead the drafting, reviewing, negotiation and interpretation of new and existing company contracts.
Proactively identify and develop strategies to address complex business and legal issues.
Provide timely legal advice with a service-oriented mindset.
Respond promptly to requests from internal clients and summarize and communicate legal risks and recommendations in a way that business leaders can understand.
Provide general support on employment, Intellectual Property and litigation matters, as requested.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the company’s products and services that enables the negotiation of appropriate contract and legal obligations.
Keep informed of new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the company.
Work on diverse legal projects and continuous improvement efforts related to contracts and compliance.
Assist with internal contracts policy and procedure training.
Your Qualifications
5-8 years of experience of related legal experience in a corporate environment or law firm.
J.D. with membership in at least one U.S. state bar (CA preferred)
Experience with corporate transactional or commercial contracting at a law firm or in-house.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to simultaneously handle multiple matters and prioritize effectively.
Passion for project management, with proven organizational planning skills.
Strong work ethic, with a rigorous attention to detail.
Capable of working well in a dynamic, small-team environment, while maintaining a sense of humor and focus.
Proven willingness to take on new projects, learn new areas of the law, and step up to support the team on issues that may be unfamiliar to you.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $132,600
