Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VP, Integrated Marketing to help lead the evolution of our marketing strategy and planning for our rapidly growing advisor business. In today’s world, attention is currency. We are all competing for the attention of audiences who live in a constant state of content overload. We are seeking a seasoned marketing leader to help earn and keep the attention of our 22,000 financial advisor clients. The marketer will translate business objectives into a client-first marketing strategy centered on audience needs and connect it to LPL’s comprehensive offering and solutions.

Candidates will help evolve our product-centric approach into a more modern content marketing strategy that is fueled with helpful, insightful, value-add topics. We’ll demonstrate a maniacal focus on our advisors, the needs they have, buying patterns and behaviors – then translate that into themes, content pillars and editorial approaches that have dynamic distribution strategies across an integrated channel set.

You will lead Advisor Growth Marketing and report to our SVP – Advisor Integrated Marketing & Communications -- and lead a team marketing strategists and consultants. The ideal candidate will have experience leading B2B and B2C marketing campaigns that leverage paid digital media and traditional marketing channels to drive qualified sales leads. This marketer will have a relentless focus on connecting marketing activities to business outcomes.

The ‘hands-on’ manager should excel in building strategies and leading them to flawless execution. They will be a curious marketer who is driven to learn and is energized by the opportunity to build something new, leveraging creativity and innovation every day. Ideal candidates thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment and are comfortable with ambiguity and pushing on the boundaries of what’s possible. Candidates must have a passion for inspiring compelling, attention-grabbing content and high-quality creative and will help us transform into a more modern integrated marketing and communications function.

This role is located at either the company’s San Diego or Fort Mill, SC office. Hybrid or remote working arrangements are not an option for this role and candidates must be comfortable being in the office at least three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business objectives into marketing campaign strategies and plans that produce a combination of awareness and consideration while driving marketing qualified leads (MQLs) and sales qualified leads (SQLs)
  • Develop and demonstrate deep acumen on the financial advisor audience, market and competitive insights to inform campaign strategy and messaging
  • Lead a horizontal, cross-functional journey or campaign team of SMEs across Brand, Market Research, Product Marketing, Digital and Communications
  • Prioritize client needs and insights to inform campaign
  • Lead the development of integrated campaign strategies and journeys, channel plans, creative and promotional assets across owned, earned and paid channels
  • Lead development of a test-and-learn plan that accelerates impact and prioritizes iterative learnings
  • Own the content marketing and editorial strategy that fuels advisor communication frameworks
  • Manage external and internal agencies in service of development and delivery of integrated marketing communications plans
  • Serve as primary liaison with multiple business units, bringing SMEs to the table as appropriate
  • Partner closely with sales teams and hold joint accountability for achieving business goals and sales targets
  • Measure and report results, identify optimization opportunities, and prioritize future plans based on efficacy of performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business
  • 10+ years of related B2B/B2C Marketing experience
  • 7+ years leading and developing high performing teams
  • Experience with integrated marketing and communications – including content marketing, customer journeys, personalization and data-driven marketing
  • Experience creating or leveraging content and thought leadership as core component of the marketing strategy


Preferences:

  • Demonstrated ability to tie marketing activity to business outcomes
  • Solid relationship management skills including the ability to influence others, manage internal/external relationships, & support more senior-level business executives
  • Exceptional project management/organizational skills with ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Capable of managing competing priorities and adapt quickly to rapidly changing environments
  • Track record of overseeing agencies to execute successfully on marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Familiarity with marketing tech and automation tools, CRM systems and analytic platforms


Pay Range:

$125,800.00 - $209,600.00

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
