Vice President, Financial Services


Padilla is seeking a Vice President to join our Corporate Advisory Group to serve and grow our Financial Services clients. This leadership role will both develop and execute communication strategies for existing clients and broaden Padilla's financial services client portfolio. Well versed in the various disciplines of communications, public relations, and marketing, a vice president at Padilla adheres to the highest standards of quality in all aspects of work and comportment.

  • Communications practitioner: Exceptional ability to gauge the communications needs of clients and develop fully integrated, measurable programs
  • Effective business development: Proven ability to network and grow business in a professional-services setting


RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategic Planning


  • Provide senior leadership to the teams serving the agency's integrated financial services accounts. This includes annual planning, campaign development, client counsel, team resourcing and overall client satisfaction
  • Expand client base and practice area beyond existing clients by demonstrating industry thought leadership and gaining the trust and confidence of community and market-sector influencers and decision-makers
  • Help establish Corporate Advisory Group goals to maximize growth and expand services with existing clients within corporate expectations for revenue and profit


New Business Development


  • Oversee preparation and implementation of the financial services annual business development and marketing plan, including revenue, profit and billability goals
  • Create and execute a plan to grow revenues and expand scope of services within current and future Padilla accounts by presenting and selling ideas, offering cross-agency tools, solutions and expertise, and closing on incremental new business each year
  • Grow and maintain a network/new business pipeline of key influencers and leaders, who have the authority to make PR firm hiring decisions
  • Exhibit forethought in proposing, developing, and implementing new program strategies and tactics for clients to support their evolving business needs
  • Oversee, plan, and manage budgets and allocation of timelines and people resources to meet aggressive client growth goals
  • Promote Padilla by being a member of an external organization and participating in events for professional development and prospecting for the agency
  • Demonstrate a high rate of success in persuasively selling new ideas that will likely achieve client business objectives and teach others how to do the same.


Client Service


  • Provide expert, high-value advice and guidance to clients and colleagues regarding the financial industry and your areas of financial services expertise
  • Respond to difficult or complex client circumstances, resolve sensitive situations, mediate conflicts and negotiate successful outcomes
  • Stay current and informed on a broad range of new developments in communications strategy and implementation, including emerging technology in industry sectors related to financial services, corporate advisory and our agency
  • Demonstrate an exceptional ability to analyze data and complex situations and develop and manage the implementation of creative and effective solutions on behalf of clients
  • Address financial issues that impact accounts, including managing difficult ARs, monitoring performance of accounts, etc.


Team Management


  • Oversee the development, training, and advancement of staff to ensure they are evolving and staying on the leading edge of our industry
  • Develop Financial Services staffing plan, identifying new talent and roles to support Corporate Advisory Group business plan
  • Demonstrate superior ability to manage an entire account and be responsive to issues/concerns
  • Consistently set an exceptional leadership example in following best practices when supervising/coaching individuals and managing teams
  • Motivate all team members to perform at their highest level


REQUIREMENTS


  • 15+ years of related experience in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising or business; agency experience required
  • Five or more years of management experience that includes financial, profitability oversight and extensive new business development
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications strategies
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Experience as a leader within the financial practices of an agency
  • Demonstrated skill at building, leading and inspiring teams.
  • Ability to travel as needed
