Job Description
At Veolia, we are driven by our passion to resource the world. As a global leader in ecological transformation, we are seeking a strategic and visionary leader to spearhead our global government affairs and policy initiatives in the water sector.
In this vital role as VP of Global Government Affairs and Policy, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of water sustainability. You will lead Veolia's engagement with policymakers, regulators, and industry associations worldwide to advocate for innovative water solutions that address the immense challenges of water scarcity, quality, and access.
This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in public policy, regulatory affairs, and stakeholder engagement to drive meaningful change in one of the most critical areas impacting our planet and global communities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute a cohesive global government affairs strategy that aligns with Veolia's vision of "Resourcing the World" through the sustainable management of water, waste, and energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the implementation of Veolia's global government affairs and public policy strategy for the water sector
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with key policymakers, regulators, industry associations, and other stakeholders worldwide
- Advocate for policies and regulations that promote sustainable water management practices and drive innovation in water technologies
- Monitor and analyze global policy trends, regulatory developments, and emerging issues related to water resources
- Represent Veolia at high-level forums, conferences, and industry events, positioning the company as a thought leader in water sustainability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align government affairs initiatives with Veolia's business objectives and sustainability goals
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on policy matters and their potential impact on Veolia's operations and growth
Core Qualifications:
- Proven track record of success in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory affairs roles, preferably in the water or environmental sector
- Exceptional strategic thinking, political acumen, and stakeholder management skills
- Deep understanding of global water challenges, policies, and regulatory frameworks
- Very good communication and influencing abilities, with the capacity to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences
- Ability to build and lead high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in additional languages being a strong asset
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally
