Job Summary:

The Medical Science Liaison acts as a crucial role in Medical Affairs, working closely with both existing and prospective clients, Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, and Lab Operations. This role operates as part of an exclusive field-based team of experts that engages with healthcare professionals in all fields of specialty and is expected to provide in-depth scientific, clinical, and educational support to external healthcare professionals, as well as to internal clinical, sales, and marketing teams. In addition, provides scientific insights back to Lab Operations management.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

• Serves as a clinical resource for the sales representatives and accurately answers any clinical question they may have to help them utilize their approved materials and to help them understand diagnostic issues for their background use.
• Works closely in collaboration with the field team to ensure that the primary products receive sound field based clinical support consistent with the brand medical strategy.
• Collaborates with the scientific leadership & marketing teams to develop accurate clinical content to include in client facing materials.
• Field based meetings - Presents approved scientific data of a basic level to healthcare providers in both group and one-on-one settings in accordance with Company Policies, and applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Including tailors messages for a given audience while presenting complex material.
• Demonstrates appropriate response and documents the provision of accurate, laboratory result review and scientific data in response to questions or requests posed by healthcare providers for approved Products in accordance with Company Policies, and applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• In accordance with company strategy, develops and maintains contacts with external experts to further understand and gain insight into diagnostic testing patterns and scientific activities taking place within the Specialty Area.
• Establish and maintains excellent relationships with all stakeholders.
• Seek ways to increase value to the client.

Qualifications:

Education

• MD, PharmD, Advanced Nurse, Physician Assistant, or equivalent.

Experience –

• 4+ years relevant work in a clinical or scientific setting related to outpatient healthcare or infectious diseases.
• Working knowledge of antibiotic resistance and stewardship and infectious disease.
