THE ROLE

Pangaea is searching for a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) who would be responsible for managing budgeting, forecasting and strategy to support our company’s growth and profitability. This role involves collaborating with various departments to drive financial performance, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and budget. The ideal candidate will also have experience in providing strategic insights to senior management and help guide business decisions with a focus on maximizing financial profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage Pangaea’s broader financial operating model
  • Synthesize and report information around customer retention, LTV, CAC and AOV
  • Help assess the financial impact of changes to the website, new product introductions, product promotions, and general operational strategies
  • Create board meeting materials and respond to investor requests
  • Improve upon the monthly financial reporting package and analysis that are sent to company stakeholders and investors on a monthly basis
  • Manage the company’s 13-week cash flow forecast
  • Conduct data-driven analysis around the various KPIs to provide actionable recommendations and hindsight
  • Maintain the company’s view on profitability by SKU by working cross-functionally with other departments and stakeholders to update assumptions and drive business decisions
  • Manage the yearly budgeting process and help drive the assumptions and framework for the company’s budget
  • Drive ad-hoc analyses for business partners to help them make important decisions about business strategy and operations
  • Build and expand on financial and operational reporting capabilities that provide executive leadership key insights about the business and help drive the right business decisions
  • Work to automate weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting including KPIs
  • Manages and develops the Senior Finance Analyst

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of financial planning and analysis experience
  • Ability to transform large amounts of data into insights and actions
  • Strong track-record of financial reporting and analytical experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and drive cross-functional communication
  • Organized, detail oriented, naturally curious and can operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience with capital raises and investor relations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in private equity or investment banking is a plus
  • Experience at a CPG company or SaaS is a plus

Compensation And Benefits

The reasonably estimated annual base salary for this role ranges from $160,000.00 - $180,000.00. Actual total compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and location. Details of participation in benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

  • Health insurance: Pangaea offers medical, dental, and vision insurance plans. Out of three amazing medical plans, we cover 100% for the first plan for employees and 90% of the monthly premium for two higher coverage plans. We also provide 75% of the monthly premium for family coverage.
  • 401(k) matching: After a 3-month waiting period, Pangaea will match up to 4% of the employee's elected contribution to their retirement plan.
  • Time off: Pangaea recognizes 14 paid holidays per year. We also have 6 additional “Pangaea Fridays” throughout the year where employees can get a head start on their weekend and take the whole day off. Lastly, we have a flexible time off policy and trust our employees to take vacation when they need it!
  • Staff discount: All staff members are given $100 of credit per month to use on Pangaea products so that they can try, own (and love!) all the products we sell.
