Data Quality Analyst

The Data Quality Analyst works collaboratively across multiple disciplines and is responsible for assessing, quantifying, and analyzing data quality problems and ensures data errors are remediated as part of Business Intelligence (BI), reporting and health information technology requirements. This position works collaboratively with department heads and managers to identify data quality issues and support putting systems in place to reduce or eliminate data quality issues. The Data Quality Analyst plays a key role in regulatory reporting, including, but not limited to UDS and OSHPD.

Qualifications/Licensure:

The data quality analyst ideally has at least 2 years of healthcare experience and is highly adept using power BI, excel and other analysis and visualization tools.

Education:

  • BS or BA Degree

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role with experience in healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Significant experience in and knowledge of all facets of IT, including systems applications, database administration, financial systems, and software, etc.
  • experience with analysis, systems thinking and design.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.

Responsibilities

Performs a combination, but not necessarily all, of the following duties:

  • Works with Business Intelligence to export data from source systems, analyze data for quality issues and work with applicable departments to remediate data quality issues.
  • Helps develop procedures across multiple disciplines to enhance and improve the data collection and analysis procedures.
  • Evaluates exception reports to identify problems, cleans data or updates core systems as applicable.
  • Interprets regulatory requirements (HRSA, UDS, OSHPD) and recommends / collaborates system changes to conform with new or existing regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares visual maps or dashboards to illustrate trends with data quality and identifies improvement workflows.
  • Uses PowerBI, Excel to analyze data and interpret trends.
  • Makes formal recommendations to leadershio on data quality improvement.
  • Trains/educates users as needed on principles of data quality/data literacy.
