We are seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel with strong legal expertise and a hands-on approach to partnering with senior leaders and empowering business operations for growth. About the Role

As the Associate Corporate Counsel, you'll be at the forefront of our internal legal function and strategies, leading the charge in ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks. You'll navigate the variety of needs across business operations, provide legal support, mitigate risks, implement structures and processes that drive our business forward, and ensure we effectively navigate the complexities of the legal landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intellectual Property Management: Advise on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. Develop strategies to protect the company’s intellectual property.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist in the management of corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Contract Review and Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including commercial, vendor, and partnership agreements.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide clear, concise legal writing to support various business initiatives and legal matters.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including monitoring changes in legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Litigation Support: Provide support for litigation and dispute resolution, including case management, discovery, and coordination with external counsel.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Advise on legal aspects of risk management, including insurance and liability matters.
  • Support Structure: Collaborate with external Senior Legal Counsel and or project stakeholders to project management and ensure the successful delivery of provide robust legal support.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Participate in local DEI initiatives and contribute to fostering an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a corporate legal environment, with a focus on intellectual property, corporate governance, and contract law.
  • Skills:
  • Strong expertise in intellectual property, corporate governance, trademarks, legal research, and legal writing.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certifications: Active bar membership in California or Jurisdictions degree required.

Compensation

The salary range 200k -240k stated here is the low and high end of the pay range for this position.
