Job Description

Ares Management is seeking a Vice President to join our dynamic and growing Ares Insurance Solutions (AIS) team in the New York or Durham, North Carolina office. AIS is a dedicated, in-house team that provides solutions for Ares insurance efforts, including Aspida, across asset management, capital solutions and corporate development. The new Vice President will work collaboratively with AIS leadership, investment teams, corporate strategy, and other internal stakeholders to support Corporate Development activities and advancement of the comprehensive business plan.

Primary Functions And Responsibilities

The Vice President will be primarily engaged in transaction management and leadership, business development and new initiatives across the AIS platform.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading transaction teams throughout the entire process, including managing and reviewing the work of junior team members.
  • Managing the fundamental due diligence and analytical effort during the insurance / reinsurance transaction process.
  • Develop a network of contacts in the industry through deal negotiations, due diligence activities and attendance at industry conferences and other networking opportunities.
  • Create key presentations for insurance company clients, rating agencies, and investors
  • Organize and respond to information requests from third party insurance company clients, financing sources and investors in conjunction with the broader team
  • Communicating investment recommendations and supporting facts to the investment team and/or investment committee.
  • Support transaction closings and integrations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent required. Superior academic achievement at a top tier undergraduate program in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 4-5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, consulting, corporate development, strategy, or finance
  • Sophisticated modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to reduce complex problems and models into key drivers. Ability to combine disparate datasets and assumptions.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment, and with senior and junior professionals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a professional, polished demeanor.
  • Evidence of intellectual curiosity, creative problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to handle and thrive with increased independence and managerial responsibilities.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$200,000-250,000
