Background:  Surgery Stuff is a high-growth, private equity-backed redistributor of surgical supplies, dedicated to providing high-quality products to ambulatory surgical centers and hospitals.  Our mission is to ensure the availability and affordability of essential surgical supplies, contributing to the well-being of patients and the efficiency of healthcare providers.

We are seeking a capable and resourceful Director of Marketing to lead our marketing efforts for this growing, private company.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of the strategic marketing plan and all related activities. The individual will put together a comprehensive marketing plan that includes print and digital marketing, trade shows, and engaging with and building relationships with key customers.  This position will collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment of marketing strategies and execution.  This position requires broad marketing skills and the ability to collaborate effectively and multi-task.  This is a full-time position based out of Fairfax, Virginia which will involve frequent travel to trade shows and conferences.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan and comprehensive marketing tactics for the company
• Plan, coordinate and manage national trade shows, state ASC association conferences, IDN summits, and key customers’ quarterly vendor meetings, including cross-functional event planning and execution of commercial tactics
• Develop and execute both a print and digital marketing strategy for the company
• Collaborate effectively with internal sales team to ensure cohesive and aligned marketing strategies
• Develop analytics and metrics to support business objectives 
• Develop and execute communication materials and collateral, as well as social media content, in support of business objectives and marketing tactics, targeting purchasers/materials managers, CFOs/financial decision-makers, and surgeons/clinical staff
• Ensure legal/regulatory compliance and medical accuracy of all marketing materials
• Manage marketing budgets effectively, ensuring maximum impact and return on investment
• Build out the marketing function over time with additional resources as the business scales

• Strong project management, communication, and organization skills
• Excellent skills leveraging technology and social media 
• Experience managing external agency partners, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and internal/external stakeholders to effectively implement strategies and programs
• Desire to work in a small, private, growth-oriented business

Preferred Education and Experience:

• BS/BA degree
• 5+ years of experience in marketing, including a deep understanding of the digital space
• Healthcare experience strongly preferred, ideally in the hospital, surgery center, or broader surgical supply sector, with an understanding of the industry, market trends, customers, and products
