Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

A global, publically traded energy company are looking for an accomplished and forward-thinking leader to fill a key role as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for their innovative tech and energy-focused business segments. This position will be pivotal in shaping financial strategies, driving business insights, and supporting decision-making across the organization.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of leadership, analytical prowess, and deep financial expertise to guide our business units toward achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities of the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

• Act as the strategic financial partner to the General Manager and other key stakeholders within a core business unit, providing expert analysis and insights to drive decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Lead the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly financial and operational metrics, ensuring results are communicated effectively to the leadership team.
• Perform in-depth variance analysis to track performance against budgets and forecasts, offering recommendations for corrective actions where needed.
• Collaborate with the broader FP&A team to manage and refine budget and forecast processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Support the evaluation of key strategic investments, developing comprehensive business cases that detail financial and operational impacts.
• Partner with compliance teams to develop and maintain robust policies and procedures within the business unit, ensuring adherence to internal controls.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial controls, working closely with internal and external auditors as necessary.
• Utilize business intelligence tools to create and deliver insightful visual reports to executive leadership and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications of the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related discipline; MBA or CPA is highly desirable.
• Over a decade of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, including at least five years in a leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic financial planning.
• Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
• High proficiency with financial software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
• Strong ethical foundation, with a commitment to integrity and operational excellence.

This is a remote role, and the company also offers a number of in-office working locations if required. They are offering $180,000+ for the right candidate, alongside a wider benefits package including health, dental, vision, PTO, 401k, and equity.
