Logistics Operation Manager

Job Description

  • Supervises department personnel

1.1 Maintains positive and friendly attitude among plant personnel

1.2 Recruits and selects of plant personnel

1.3 Develops and implements and training programs for newly hired personnel

1.4 Develops and trains lead position personnel to assist in the supervision of all employees in warehouse to assist in the supervision of all employees in warehouse

1.5 Perform performance evaluation for warehouse personnel

1.6 Disciples as mandated in the personnel manual

1.7 Terminates plant personnel as required

1.8 Recommends pay increIases and promotions for warehouse personnel

1.9 Promotes non-union shop through positive employee relations

  • Identifies and implements possible cost-saving improvements

2.1 Notifies appropriate person of any issues with inbound loads or outbound loads from the facility

3 Assists Human Resource with payroll/benefits programs

3.1 Aids in development of pay structure for all employees

3.2 Process new hire information

3.3 Processes payroll every two weeks

3.4 Submits all payroll status change forms, payroll and new hire information to general maanger for approval

3.5 Distributes updated information to the employees, i.e health insurance, dental, life insurance and 401k.

3.6 Assists Regional Manager in holding employee meetings to explain any changes that may occur in any of the benefits

4 Ensures safety standards are met

4.1 Oversees that the facility is in compliance with all O.S.H.A mandated requirements

4.1.1 Lockout/ tagout

4.1.2 Hazardous communications

4.1.3 Emergency evacuation plan

4.1.4 Blood born pathogens

4.1.5 Certification of lift truck personnel

4.1.6 CPR training

5 Ensures equipment and facilities meet standards

5.1 Oversees that sanitation programs in place to insure "inspection ready" facility at all times

5.2 Provides and maintains system for equipment maintenance

5.3 Purchase maintain repair parts and supplies for warehouse equipment

5.4 Recommends purchase of machines and fixtures based on cost-benefits analysis

6 Evaluates operations to maximize potential

6.1 Finds ways to improve productivity and to reduce costs to increase profitability

6.2 Insure that utilization of warehouse facility is being properly maximized
