About the Job

• Title: QA Lead
• Location: Austin, TX
• Job Type: Hybrid (On-Site M,W,F)
• Contract Details: 90-day 1099 Contract with possible W2 conversion based on performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Quality Strategy Development

• Define and maintain the overall quality strategy and vision for the game product.
• Lead, mentor, and work side-by-side with the QA team to ensure thorough testing of game features, including functionality, performance, usability, and compatibility across different devices and platforms.
• Recruit, train, and manage QA staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment aimed at fostering professional development.

Test Planning, Execution, and Improvement

• Develop and maintain detailed test plans based on game requirements and design documents.
• Continuously evaluate, improve, and document QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Conduct usability testing to assess the overall user experience and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct performance and load testing to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks and ensure smooth gameplay performance.
• Analyze performance metrics and work with developers to optimize game performance.

Bug Tracking and Reporting

• Oversee the bug tracking process, ensuring all defects are documented, tracked, and prioritized effectively.
• Provide details and actionable feedback to development teams to facilitate timely bug fixes and improvements.

Stakeholder Reporting

• Prepare and present QA reports and metrics to senior management, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Ensure transparency and visibility of QA activities and progress.

Experience

• Strong knowledge of Atlassian applications (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, etc)
• Excels at documentation maintenance
• Excellent communication skills
• 3+ years of Senior QA experience
• Mobile game industry experience
• Experience in leadership or managerial roles
