Position Overview

The Director of Human Resources is a high-level position overseeing Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, and Corporate HR functions. This role plays a pivotal part in crafting and executing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organization's strategic objectives.


Core Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the Vice President of Human Resources to devise and enact HR strategies that support company vision, core values, and business goals.

- Lead the Corporate HR team while working closely with plant HR teams to offer timely advice, support, and development. Cultivate a collaborative, innovative, and continuously improving work environment.

- Oversee three direct reports who manage HR policies, succession planning, performance management, compensation, payroll, and benefits. Guide the development and execution of a competitive total rewards program that aligns with organizational objectives and core values.

- Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution, exit interviews, corporate investigations, disciplinary actions, and overall employee engagement.

- Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations by implementing appropriate policies and procedures.

- Manage HR administrative tasks such as visa processes, immigration requirements, corporate HR budget, vendor invoices, HR audits, announcements, and the Affirmative Action Program.

- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Labor Relations to further HR strategic goals.

- Develop proactive strategies to enhance the corporate candidate and employee experience.


Required Skills and Attributes

- Proficiency in building and managing relationships at all organizational levels.

- Deep understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Over 15 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within manufacturing or heavy industry.

- Strong presentation abilities.

- Proven track record of managing and motivating teams.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Experience

- At least 3 years of HR experience in a mid-to-large manufacturing setting.

- Familiarity with ADP Enterprise and ADP Report Writer.

- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

- Experience with HR systems, HRIS, or implementing Human Capital Management (HCM) systems.
