About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

The Content Experience (CX) team is looking for a Senior Manager to lead a group of writers and content designers in our Self-Service and Growth organization. Our small and mighty team is responsible for highly innovative content that focuses on ease-of use and making Salesforce an easier product to try, buy, and love.

SS&G content includes prompts and walkthroughs, guidance sets, Spotlight cards, help documentation, release notes, Trailhead modules, videos, Confluence spaces, emails, UI Text, and more. You're an excellent match if you have experience with content strategy and in-app content development and aren’t afraid to advocate for CX team needs with cross-functional stakeholders. You enjoy empowering people and teams to do their best work, and you're passionate about communicating how to use technology to achieve key business goals. You’re not afraid to "ride the wave" and help our team feel confident in a rapid-paced product climate.

You Will

  • Inspire, coach, mentor, and provide professional development for a 5-person team of writers and content designers.
  • Work with your team and stakeholders to determine direction and priorities for your team.
  • Partner with our content designers and team to ensure pattern alignment and consistency across experiences.
  • Provide consistency and process in a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Provide visibility and alignment across our team and to our leadership.
  • Champion and promote our content both in our SS&G channels as well as in CX.
  • Monitor content performance metrics to identify opportunities to refine your content.
  • Be an advisor to your cloud’s executive leadership for content priorities.
  • Regularly report on V2MOM priorities, deliverables, roadmaps, and content coverage.
  • Champion a user-centric approach to content development, ensuring our SS&G content is intuitive, findable, and meets the needs of our “also admins” and end users
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new writers and content designers as the team grows.
  • Partner with the CX leadership team to align on overall SS&G direction and priorities.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in technical writing

  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and team development skills
  • Sound judgment and strong decision-making ability
  • Strong customer advocacy skills
  • Great organizational abilities
  • Cross-functional team experience and influence
  • Track record of improving existing styles, processes, and teams
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or communications field

Desired Experience/Skills

  • Familiarity with content design and driving decision-making with data
  • Experience working extremely closely with User Experience and Research & Insights
  • Familiarity with in-app content tools
  • Experience with change management
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Slack and Figma
