Job Mission
We are seeking an authority and strategic Director of Cloud FinOps to lead the financial operations of our growing cloud business. Reporting into the Head of Cloud FinOps, this role is crucial for running our cloud P&L and will be instrumental in improving topline growth as well as optimizing the investment strategies that support it. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud operations, product portfolio management, as well as SaaS-specific pricing and selling strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management:
- Develop and implement strategies for cloud cost optimization and financial management.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on cloud expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and financial goals.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to drive cost-saving initiatives and improve resource prioritization.
- Build and maintain long-range financial models to forecast cloud business and assess the financial impact of different cloud strategies.
- Conduct scenario analysis and provide insights into the financial implications of various cloud operational decisions.
- Partner with the Product Management and Pricing teams to develop and implement outstanding pricing strategies and selling models.
- Support the Sales, Renewals, and Deal Management Teams by developing tools and playbooks that insure best practices are followed.
- Ensure effective tracking and reporting of customer usage via the development of dashboards and other tools.
- Partner with Product Management, FP&A, and Engineering to build business cases and ROI analyses for all new engineering investments and New Product Introductions.
- Conduct analyses on the existing portfolio to identify areas for improvement.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and training to finance and operational teams on cloud financial best practices.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements related to cloud spend and operations.
- Develop and implement governance frameworks for cloud financial management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of confirmed experience in financial management, with a focus on cloud operations, SaaS, pricing strategies, and portfolio management.
- Confirmed experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, SaaS financial dynamics, and cloud pricing strategies.
- Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to translate sophisticated data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven track record to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, financial modeling software, Salesforce).
- Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their financial management tools.
- Certification in financial management or cloud operations (e.g., CFA, CPA, Cloud Certification).
US Pay Range
$163,200—$204,000 USD

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
