Dentologie (Chicago-based dental group) is seeking an analytical and resourceful individual that will bring the best of strategic and operational thinking to the clinical function as the Director of Clinical Operations. This individual will have access and opportunity to work with the senior executives across Dentologie and aid the Chief Clinical Officer in a variety of projects within the clinical business unit and other cross-functional areas.

The Director of Clinical Operations will report to Dr. Hany Kurdi, whom is one of the original founder-dentists and the Chief Clinical Officer of Dentologie. Dr. Kurdi oversees and sets strategy for our clinical organization; overseeing the creation of Dentologie’s clinical best practices, doctor career path, and overseeing 30-50+ doctors (and growing!).

Dentologie is a fast-paced, modern, technology-driven practice disrupting the dental industry. At our core, we are driven by Professionalism, Personality, and Positivity to provide an extraordinary patient and employee experience. Presently, Dentologie operates twelve locations in the urban Chicago area, with an more slated to open before end of 2024. Moreover, Dentologie launched this summer in Seattle, WA, the inaugural venture into an out-of-market city.

Where will I be located?

Our headquarters, founding members, dental offices and clinical staff are based in Chicago, and the selected individual will be seated in our Chicago HQ (River North) as well to be effective.

Who will I report to?

You will report directly to Dr. Hany Kurdi, Founder and our Chief Clinical Officer.

What will I make?

Dentologie offers a competitive base salary, bonus, benefits and equity compensation package. We are happy to discuss specifics around compensation for this role with qualified candidates during the first interview.

What will I do?

This individual will work closely with Dr. Hany Kurdi; Equity and Associate Partner Doctor(s); associate dentists, senior operations team leader(s); and other leadership team members on high priority projects and initiatives which accelerate Dentologie’s growth and profitability. This individual is expected to have core competencies in operations and a clinical (or clinical-adjacent setting) in dental or healthcare to hit the ground running. Additionally, we are looking for someone who is data-based, eager to roll up their sleeves, and has excellent executive presence as they engage doctors, members of the leadership team, and external vendors.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel to create analysis and presentations for the clinical team
  • The creation and optimization of clinical processes, standard operating procedures, and emergency protocols at the organization-level
  • Tracking of key metrics across the clinical organization
  • Collaboration and correspondence with unit-level staff to guide and enhance patient experience
  • Administrative support with the Patient Management System, continuing education for clinical staff, clinical time-off requests, scheduling audits, legal requests and documentation, etc
  • Support in onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing non-clinical management of doctors

What are the requirements?

The list is long, but it is important we get this right. This person will have:

  • 3-5+ years in an operations/clinical role at a dental or healthcare organization (or combination of operations and clinical role) with positive reviews and upward career progression
  • Dental experience strongly preferred, healthcare experience secondarily
  • Critical-thinking and data-based work mindset
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint and desire to continue to grow and progress in these competencies
  • Excellent executive presence with the ability to communicate with Doctors, executives, and other high-level senior leadership team members
  • Interest in moving to a high visibility clinical/operations role
  • Interest in learning how to operate effectively in a high-growth, venture-backed enterprise
