Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Managing Director to lead our venture capital team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in venture capital or private equity, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of market trends and startup ecosystems. This role involves overseeing investment strategies, managing a portfolio of investments, and driving the firm’s growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investment Strategy and Execution:
    • Develop and execute the firm’s investment strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
    • Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities through market research, networking, and due diligence.
    • Lead negotiations and structuring of investment deals, including term sheets and contracts.
  • Portfolio Management:
    • Oversee a portfolio of investments, providing strategic guidance and support to portfolio companies.
    • Monitor performance metrics, and work closely with portfolio companies to drive growth and achieve milestones.
    • Develop and implement exit strategies to maximize returns on investments.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the venture capital team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
    • Collaborate with senior management to set and achieve firm-wide goals.
    • Manage relationships with limited partners, stakeholders, and industry experts.
  • Market Analysis and Networking:
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
    • Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts, including entrepreneurs, investors, and advisors.
    • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or a related investment field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Skills:
    • Proven track record of successful investments and exits.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling and valuation.
    • Excellent negotiation and deal-making skills.
    • Effective leadership and team management abilities.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
