About The Job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for VP, Digital Engineering to join our Tailored Technology team. This individual will have a strong focus on delivering business value with high energy and be responsible for building applications to support best in class for online, mobile and in-store customer experience.

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities

  • Drive Vision and Strategy: Shape and execute the vision for our Digital Engineering team, collaborating with Product Management and cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative products and experiences.
  • Lead High-Performing Teams: Oversee both in-house and outsourced engineering teams, delivering top-tier digital solutions with a focus on quality, efficiency, performance and business impact
  • Own the Development Lifecycle: Own project timelines, manage development milestones and risk, and ensure timely delivery of business outcomes, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Prioritize and Scope Releases: Balance new product development, enhancements, bug fixes, and production support activities, ensuring the backlog is well-groomed and aligned with the overall strategy and roadmap.
  • Oversee Project Planning and Delivery: Lead the planning, design, development, and delivery of digital initiatives, spanning new programs, projects, bug fixes, and enhancements.
  • Champion Best Practices: Implement best practices in engineering, production support, lead troubleshooting of site experience issues, and communicate action plans, statuses, and preventive measures to stakeholders. Identify and drive the adoption of new tools, techniques, processes, and methodologies to enhance engineering delivery.
  • Foster Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholder and technology peer groups, ensuring alignment and collaboration.

What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience

  • Extensive Experience: 15+ years in eCommerce engineering, delivering scalable software engineering initiatives preferably in a retail environment, with a strong track record of collaboration across cross-functional groups, including external vendors.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience using a variety of technologies and frameworks including React NodeJS, Python, Java, SQL, Cloud, Microservices and APIs, DevOps CI/CD, etc.
  • Strategic and Operational Excellence: Proven history of developing ambitious yet actionable strategies, leading to successful execution, and a passion for driving operational efficiency across all business aspects.
  • Data-Driven and Innovative: Comfortable operating with an agile, test-learn-iterate approach, using data and insights to inform decisions, with a track record of leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve complex problems.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and developing high-performing engineering teams, and a proven record of building and scaling high-performance teams.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate them into technology solutions that enhance the user experience.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration: Highly effective communicator who can connect with team members at every level of the company, and a team player who builds strong cross-functional relationships grounded in trust and respect.
  • Creative and Proactive: A product leader who obsesses over the user experience, has an unending thirst for improvement, and takes a proactive approach to identifying issues and finding effective solutions.

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a remote location.

The starting salary for this position is $186,600 - $248,700 and may increase to $310,900 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 30% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) and Long Term Incentive (LTI) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
