Multiple Junior And Mid-Level Positions - Boston Office

Fairmont Consulting Group is a fast-growing Boston and D.C.-based firm focused on mergers and acquisition (M&A) due diligence and strategic advisory services for private equity and other investors and corporate clients active in the aerospace, defense, space, and government services sectors. We are currently seeking applicants from Analysts through Senior Associates. Successful applicants will support engagements through market research, competitive analysis, database development, and other related activities commensurate with their role and experience. They will be an integral part of our project teams, and our team members frequently interact directly with our clients as well as industry stakeholders.

The nature of our engagements is such that we spend the majority of our time working from our own Boston or Washington, D.C. offices, with travel limited to a few days each month. Required Education, Experience, & Skills


Analysts

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, economics, finance, or business preferred; other majors should demonstrate quantitative aptitude through a relevant minor degree or coursework
  • Strong academic credentials as demonstrated through GPA and class rank (top quartile) commensurate with academic excellence
  • Demonstrated domain knowledge in aerospace, defense, and/or government services
  • Demonstrated functional expertise in business analysis, corporate strategy, and/or mergers & acquisitions
  • Flexibility, attention to detail, superior critical thinking skills, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint


Senior Analysts

  • All requirements listed under Analyst, plus THREE years post-undergraduate experience in one of our core markets: aerospace, defense, space, or government services
  • Senior Analysts will have this experience in a role that also provides them exposure to strategy or transaction work.


Associates

  • All requirements listed under Analyst, plus FIVE years directly relevant post-undergraduate full-time work experience in one of our core markets
  • To be considered as an Associate, a meaningful portion of relevant market experience will need to also demonstrate successful experience in core Fairmont functional areas: market analysis, strategy, commercial due diligence
  • MBA or relevant graduate degree (policy, economics, security studies) from a top-tier institution will be considered favorably, but is not a substitute for the required experience above; Client service exposure, preferably in a fast-paced, project-driven environment is highly desirable
  • Client and/or prior employer references strongly preferred


Senior Associates

  • All requirements listed under Analyst & Associate, plus a minimum of THREE years directly relevant post-MBA full-time work experience (eight years minimum total full-time work experience) in one of our core markets


US citizenship is required for all positions at Fairmont.


Compensation

Compensation is benchmarked against McKinsey, Bain, and Boston Consulting Group, with commensurate expectations for candidate credentials, experience, and job performance. Fairmont provides generous benefits, including medical and dental insurance, a 401K match, ten holidays, and four weeks of personal leave (split between discretionary PTO and firm holidays).
