Job Description

The University of Missouri Athletics Department is committed to fostering academic excellence and athletic success among our student-athletes. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Director of Football Academics to join our team and contribute to our mission of ensuring our football student-athletes excel both on the field and in the classroom.

The Assistant Director of Football Academics will work closely with the Director of Football Academics and other staff to provide comprehensive academic support to football student-athletes. This role involves overseeing academic progress, developing academic plans, and implementing strategies to enhance student-athlete success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in academic advising, student development, and athletic administration.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual and group academic advising to football student-athletes, including course selection, degree planning, and time management strategies.

Track and assess academic progress of student-athletes to ensure compliance with NCAA and conference academic standards.

Prepare reports on academic performance and provide recommendations for improvements.

Work collaboratively with coaches, faculty, and other university staff to create an integrated support system for student-athletes.

Attend team meetings and contribute to the development of academic programs and initiatives.

Assist in the development and implementation of academic programs and workshops designed to enhance student-athlete success.

Organize academic support sessions, tutoring services, and study halls.

Refer students to appropriate university resources when necessary.

Ensure adherence to all NCAA, SEC, and university academic policies and procedures.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in academic advising for the NCAA

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875 - $59,000

Grade: GGS-10
