The Career Opportunity:
The Revenue Director will direct the day-to-day functions of the PracticeTek revenue team to ensure we operate as a best in class SaaS Revenue team, including timely and accurate invoicing, data management, collections and revenue recognition / reporting
The position is based in San Diego, CA with a hybrid work schedule (3 days per week in office).
Areas of Accountability:
- Develop & maintain documentation of all revenue processes, from quote to cash collection
- Ensure team are expertly trained in PT billing, credit, rev rec and collections
- Participate in Rev Ops team
- Participate as a key leader in Project Harmony, particularly on the billing system & revenue recognition aspects
- Billing:
- Responsible for timely & accurate billing of all PracticeTek customers in all revenue streams
- Operate as SME on PT's billing systems, ensuring uptime, data integrity
- Work with business leaders to understand customer & product needs, including defining and provisioning new products and items
- Adapting billing processes to changing customer and market needs
- Effecting price increases, processing credits and managing associated approvals
- Collections:
- Responsible for ensuring collection of PracticeTek receivables on a timely basis and managing / calculating DSO, Bad Debt reserves
- Manage and train collections team on daily process, escalations and activity
- Manage credits and write offs
- Revenue Recognition:
- Oversee preparation of monthly revenue recognition accounting for PT including analysis and reconciliation of all deferred revenue, contract assets, commissions in accordance with GAAP
- Analysis and reconciliation of all accrued revenue & associated AR
- Provision of journal entries monthly in line with close calendar
- Provide back up and substantiation for all audit requests
- Reporting:
- Assist in providing data supporting customer cohorts as well as analysis on customer and segment level trends / specifics

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree or CPA preferred.
- 10 years of progressive experience in revenue management preferably in a SaaS or software company with a minimum revenue range of $100 million and at least 5 years of experience managing mid-size teams.
- Strong systems experience in high velocity billing platforms such as Stripe, Zuora, Billing Platform etc.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, particularly around revenue / contracts
- Experience in audit / external validation
- Experience managing teams, including billers & collectors
- Experience with state & local tax a huge benefit
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to our organization’s mission.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to departmental managers and senior management.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; strong project management skills and ability to multi-task is essential; sense of urgency and ability to get things done.
