The Opportunity…

We are looking for a Human Resource Generalist to join our growing Headquarters team and to execute People Operations efforts. This position reports to the HR Director and supports administration, coordination, and application of company-wide people operations policies, procedures, and practices. and execute organization-wide People Operations efforts.

  • Support the overall onboarding process for new hires and trainees: handbook orientation, starting the background check process, ensuring paperwork is completed, answering questions, etc.
  • Manager offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews, issuing paperwork, closing accounts, etc
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Assist team with management with administrative duties: annual audits (ensure training completed, paperwork on file, annual notices sent, etc).
  • Provide support with employee relations issues, including employee disputes, complaints, performance management, company policies and procedures, disciplinary process, legal requirements.
  • Work with other HR team members to respond to employee inquiries and work with local Executive Assistants to fulfill People's requests.
  • Support maintenance of People Team space on Haystack(GRID’s intranet) and add/update policies as relevant
  • Support the development and administration of department goals, systems, and projects.
  • Participate in various HR projects and initiatives to support organizational goals and improve HR processes.
  • What you need to bring to this role…
  • 2+ years of progressive experience as an HR generalist or related field, supporting HR activities through the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to separation
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Ability to convey information effectively and clearly in writing and verbally
  • Adept at change management - comfortable in a constantly evolving environment
  • Highly resourceful team-player - willing to seek answers and support the team and GRID Alternatives overall
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize
  • Proficient level of MS Office and G-Suite platforms
  • Flexible able to learn and retain new concepts and technology quickly
  • *Hired CA candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP.


It would be great if you also had…

  • One year of general people operations experience , administration and business operations
  • Experience with Paycor, Paycom ATS and HRIS platforms
  • Where you will sit & the places you may go…
  • This position may require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects. Availability to work nights and weekends may be required.


GRID Alternatives provides vehicles for work travel, and due to COVID-19 current guidelines, we may also require limited personal vehicle use. In the latter instance, GRID will provide travel reimbursement for work-related personal vehicle use in accordance with our payroll schedule. Additionally, all applicants will need a valid driver’s license and good driving record to be considered.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience in a range of $23.00- $31.00 per hour.
