Job Description

Vann Gannaway Chevrolet is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, results-driven Service Manager to lead our established service department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and motivating a tenured team, ensuring the smooth operation of the service department, and implementing and achieving financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Prior Service Manager experience with proven track record of success
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair process
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Successfully pass drug screening, background and motor vehicle records check

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure an excellent customer experience throughout the service process
  • Organize and coordinate the daily workflow of the service department
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the service department
  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of the service department staff
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment with effective communication and teamwork
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote new and repeat business
  • Adhere to safety protocols including hazardous waste disposal, OSHA regulations, and KPA guidelines
  • Monitor technicians daily work productivity and payroll records
  • Maintain accurate records of repair orders, warranty submissions, and other customer information
  • Establish solid working relationships with GM Factory Rep and other vendors
  • Ensures the proper care, storage and inventory of special tools.
  • Ensures that all customers are greeted promptly and given fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs and maintenance.
  • Prepares pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains 24-hour follow-up with all customers to confirm satisfaction with the service experience
  • Maintains a professional appearance
  • Other tasks as assigned.
