Oula is redesigning maternity care from the ground up. Our modern maternity centers combine the best of obstetrics and midwifery care to deliver a more evidence-based and personalized pregnancy experience. From our patient-centered medical team, welcoming clinic, and remote care platform, we are setting a new standard for pregnancy care that unifies modern medicine and human intuition. Our first clinic opened in Brooklyn in 2021. We've since opened a second clinic in downtown Manhattan with plans for more Oula clinics to come.

As Vice President of Central Operations, you will be responsible for managing all central operational functions at Oula, which includes People (talent, recruiting, comp & benefits), revenue cycle, credentialing, IT/security, and legal/compliance.

You will manage and collaborate with the leaders of these departments to develop and implement strategies around national expansion, key metrics and dashboards and process improvement. Furthermore, your role will be pivotal in scaling Oula, by building the next iteration of Oula's people function with the goals of driving workforce productivity, retention, and satisfaction. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a full time position with the option to be either hybrid in New York City or fully remote.

Responsibilities

Manage Oula's people, legal/compliance, revenue cycle, credentialing and IT/security functions and associated employees

  • Evaluate the maturity of each function and identify key areas for infrastructure building
  • Organize key metrics and work with team members to build operational dashboards
  • Manage leaders and their functions' associated process improvement plans
  • Work with leaders to develop missing policies and procedures; ensure that policies are effectively communicated and understood by employees, and oversee their implementation and enforcement.

Bolster each of these functions for scale.

  • Collaborate with expansion and other leaders to develop an operational plan for each function relative to national growth targets
  • Manage the development of these functional budgets as well as spend throughout the year.
  • Develop framework and processes to support state and local regulations potentially impacting Oula as it expands beyond New York City.

Strengthen and manage a world-class people operations function

  • Develop and implement people strategies that align with the overall business strategy, including the management of employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, and compensation and benefits.
  • Work with various cross-functional owners to evaluate key levers that support and strengthen Oula's culture.

Build and manage a cross-functional compliance, IT/security, risk assessment and mitigation program

  • Develop audit process to identify potential compliance risks across various Oula functions
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and controls to address identified risks effectively.
  • Monitor changes to compliance related regulations and work with cross-functional teams to update key processes

Manage the leaders and staff overseeing credentialing & revenue cycle

  • Improve credentialing timeline as well as visibility into delays
  • Improve collection timing and rates

Manage overall budget for legal vendors

About You:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in healthcare people operations and/or central office operations
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, law, finance, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of people operations and effective employee incentive programs
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory and security requirements and assess their impact on business processes.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Exact compensation inclusive of salary and any bonuses is determined based on a number of factors including experience and skill level, location, and qualifications which are assessed during the interview process.
