Responsibilities

Pursuant to MV Transportation’s desire to continue to grow within the transportation industry and maintain its current footprint in the transportation space which includes but is not limited to Fixed Route, Paratransit, Shuttle, Airport, and Microtransit operations, MV is seeking a Vice President of Shuttle Services (Sales and Operations) who will be a dynamic leader responsible for driving the growth and expansion of MV’s shuttle services. This role requires a strong focus on business development opportunities and relationships, with a strategic vision to identify and capture new market opportunities.

The Vice President of Shuttle Services (Sales and Operations) is responsible for managing assigned competitive procurements from pre-RFP to submittal and interviews as needed for either new business and/or retention of current MV contracts as needed and assigned by the SVP – Operations and Shuttle Services. This position will work collaboratively with other members of the Business Development and Operations teams in the sales territory and the entire Procurement team comprised of internal and external assets to ensure responsive and quality technical and pricing submittals in a leadership role managing assigned projects and sales leads for development. The VP will attend meetings, interviews and complete field and other related research for the project as needed and/or assigned. In addition to Business Development, this position will have direct oversight of select shuttle operations and their General Managers until such time that business growth demands additional region resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Leadership:
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive business development strategy to expand the shuttle services market presence.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Leverage industry networks to uncover emerging market trends and capitalize on opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative service offerings that meet the evolving needs of clients and customers.
  • Sales Strategy and Execution:
  • Drive the sales team to achieve ambitious revenue targets by identifying and securing new contracts with corporate clients, educational institutions, and government agencies.
  • Develop and implement a robust sales pipeline management process.
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations and close large-scale contracts that contribute significantly to the division's revenue goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring long-term partnerships and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee the efficient and effective delivery of shuttle services, ensuring operational processes align with the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency, including advanced technologies in fleet management, route optimization, and driver performance.
  • Continuously monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational excellence and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Strategic Planning and Market Expansion:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans that align with MV’s long-term goals and objectives, focusing on market expansion and diversification.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new geographic and service verticals, positioning the division as a market leader.
  • Lead the expansion into new markets, overseeing the launch and integration of new services, locations, and acquisitions.
  • Manage the division’s budget, ensuring alignment with overall company financial targets and growth initiatives.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team across sales and operations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote collaboration and communication across departments to ensure alignment and shared success.
  • Client and Stakeholder Relations:
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory agencies.
  • Proactively address and resolve any client concerns or operational issues, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a thought leader within the industry, positioning MV as a forward-thinking and innovative leader in shuttle services.

Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

This individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. They must be able to work independently without administrative assistance and support. Winning and professional behavior under pressure is critical, as are excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). The selected candidate must be able to work on multiple high priority tasks simultaneously along with multiple projects and must be willing to travel 80% of the time. This is a remote position.

Additional Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation Management, or a related field (MBA preferred). Significant experience performing at a high level in an equivalent industry will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have direct experience in business development, sales, or strategic growth within the shuttle services industry, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving significant business growth through strategic business development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of the shuttle services industry, including market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape. Shuttle will include University, Airport, Corporate Campuses, and other similar shuttle operations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans while managing day-to-day operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and P&L.
  • Willingness to travel as required, with an expectation of over 60% likely.
