General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a remote (hybrid/onsite preferred) Director of Contracts to join our Scranton, PA Team supporting NEPA Operations. The Director of Contracts participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products or services. Helps evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligations. Requests or approves amendments to contract terms or contract extensions. Prepares bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including specifications and requirements; negotiates contract terms and participates in the determination of acceptable bids.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Directs and oversees the organization's contract administration function, ensuring that contract negotiation strategies support the overall business strategy.
  • Oversees the negotiation and administration of the organization's contracts.
  • Responsible for the development of standard contract documents, including terms and conditions.
  • Reviews and edits or approves significant or substantial contractual changes.
  • Monitors the work of a team of contract analysts/administrators that prepare, negotiate, review, and revise contracts.
  • Establishes and administers contracting strategies that are meant to improve business performance and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • May assist with pricing, quotations, or proposals for the sale of organizational goods and services.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership.

Required Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree
  • OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • 8-10 years experience relevant to the positions functional area (cost estimating, related accounting, purchasing)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree (Accoutning, Finance or Business Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to foster teamwork, decision-making and leadership skills. Persuasive oral and written communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Detail oriented and Problem/Situation analysis.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • *This is a remote and/or hybrid position based at our Scranton, PA site. Candidates must be able to work onsite approx. 1- 2 days per week and as needed.***

Pay Range (USD)

$113,750.00 to $211,250.00

Additional Compensation - ICP

Hired applicant will be eligible to participate in the Company’s Incentive Compensation Program.
