Move over, Elon Musk. We’re seeking someone equally visionary who is ready to help develop, implement, and manage the best policies and procedures for our company (because who needs fancy cars or social media when you can have…paperwork?!). Seriously, the ideal candidate for this role will be organized and detail-oriented, but also excited to work closely with the HR Director to expand the impact of the HR department throughout RTS. But what exactly is the name of the game at RTS? We’re in a fast-paced industry, one that requires a highly-motivated team to do the hard work of arranging transportation for lots of shipments, every day, so that shelves around the country can stay stocked with essential goods (like, say, toilet paper). We're Looking for the Right "Who" That Will Be Excited To:

  • Help out in any area of HR, including compensation & benefits, employee engagement, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, employee leaves, payroll, and training & development
  • Wear many hats in a small company that is growing and changing in an effort to get better every day
  • Support leadership in decision-making related to people management, while applying HR best practices and devising strategies in line with company goals and objectives, ensuring company growth as well as employee wellbeing
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, new technologies, regulatory changes, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to maintain compliance, improve efficiencies, and mitigate risk


What skills do you need?

  • At least 10 years experience in Human Resources
  • Significant employee relations experience at a decision-making level
  • You’re a nice person—because we think who you work with matters just as much as what you do
  • Initiative: when you’re finished with your job, ask “what’s next?”
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • A willingness to take ownership when you mess up


What might a typical day look like?

Each day can vary and be unpredictable at times, so the ideal candidate will be agile and willing to pivot and reprioritize their work as needs change and issues arise. You will follow up on emails/answer questions and inquiries, work on a variety of projects, touch base with leaders and employees, attend meetings and educational trainings/webinars, participate in interviewing job applicants, review HR policies with new hires, handle employee relations issues, and handle/assist with daily routine HR administrative tasks.
