We are a well-established and growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) organization based in the vibrant Chicago market.
This is a remote, individual contributor (Hunter mentality) opportunity with travel involved in the West Coast. We're seeking someone who can break into new accounts, and then be an account manager for new and existing accounts in the West Coast region.
The ideal candidate would be located in Texas or California, or surrounding States. This position requires frequent travel, often time in a vehicle when checking in with local customers.

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Director of Sales with a strong background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector, particularly within the food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in account management, business development, food manufacturing, and retail/wholesale distribution. This role demands an in-depth understanding of the salad dressings and dips as well as expertise in managing branded products.
As the Permanent Director of Sales, you will
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet company goals and objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the company's customer base in both retail and wholesale sectors.
- Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
- Lead the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement product strategies.
- Oversee the branded product portfolio.
- Provide market feedback to company leadership on competitive offerings and prospect needs, generating product development ideas.
- Navigate complex business processes and act as a liaison between customers and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with CA food handling and safety standards.
To excel in this role, you will need
- 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role within the CPG industry, specifically in food manufacturing.
- Branded Products experience is a must.
- You need to have a strong background as an Account Manager and really drive customer relationships.
- TPM (Trade Promotion Management) experience is preferred.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- A proven track record of achieving sales growth and business development objectives.
- Extensive knowledge in salad dressings, dips and spreads markets or even produce background.
- Experience in managing retail and wholesale distribution channels.
- Small format experience is a bonus.
- Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills at all organizational levels.
- A solid understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to close deals.
- Must be able to travel in the West Coast as needed.
